Ok, so I have fixed error I had for over a week now. And actually it was ve-e-ery easy, if you know how to do it of course. If you have started programming on C# you think that all adds for you automagicaly. Once you use SpriteBatch in XNA – d2dcontex is loaded, you use text and d2writefactory is added, you play SoundEffect and XAudio2 is loaded. You don’t even know about this. Until you start doing it on C++ and DirectX.
I have recently got new Nokia Lumia 710 phone and I have setup it to Russian language, as it will be used by my mother. And what I have discovered: when you press Search hardware button it just open browser with http://www.bing.com/ instead of proper search menu with nice background, local scout and so on. Just looks like it is completely lost and missing.
Today came across a Nokia Lumia 610 advertisement in city centre and jump to the mobile phone shop to take a look at it. Apparently, very nice phone, very smooth even with outdated stats (should cost 99 pounds though).
Shame on me. I was wondering, why my Sprite data is corrupted after copying to vector class, which was causing Debug assertion failed – vector iterator is not dereferencableerror.
And that is why. Because I have not implemented copy constructor for Sprite class this code was created a problem:
Ahh, that’s a never-ended story. You can’t fight them all, but you could try eliminate most of them.
Once while debugging my Windows 8 C++ DirectX game I opened Windows Task Manager to check memory consumption. It is the worst tool for memory leaks checking, but if your program takes 150 MB additional memory in five minutes, something is wrong.
I noticed interesting thing. While Tethering my Nokia Lumia 800 can’t receive and install Applications for debugging. So I got nice choice:
Today in the morning I had Virtual Application Excellence Lab with one of the Microsoft employees. I had some problems with internet connection and game was far from finished, but there is some good point Nicolas tells me while reviewing my application.
Two of my application recently passed verification for Windows Phone Marketplace with difference of few hours.
Few days ago Microsoft revealed new update for Nokia Lumia 710 and 800. It’s adding a couple of new features, but the most critical is Internet Sharing. I believe it is actually Tango update people was waiting for almost a year.
But nothing is so easy, it not available in all countries and regions. You can check availability here. Or you can do a force update. Because it is not available for T-Mobile I have done second, I can’t just wait 🙂 And now I have Internet at home.
Couple of weeks ago I went to Microsoft event in London. It’s been held in mind to help Developers to port their existing application from Windows Phone 7 to Windows 8 Metro. Just to say, the event was incredible! Useful talks combined with great feedback, food and fun.
